Yahya Sinwar RA | Liberation or Martyrdom are Both Victory

A PRESS STATEMENT

Wonderful is the affair of the believer, as there is good for him in every matter and
this is not the case with anyone but the believer. If he is happy, he thanks Allah and thus there is good for him.
If he is harmed, he shows patience and thus there is good for him. (Muslim)

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa (JUSA) extends condolences to the people of Palestine, the resistance, as well as the global solidarity movement for Palestine, for the loss of Yahya Sinwar, a fighter and leader who refused to be cowed down by the Zionist oppressor.

The now-confirmed killing of Yahya Sinwar, aka Abu Ibrahim, has come seventy-seven days after the martyrdom of his predecessor, Ismail Haniyeh RA. From Allah we come and unto Him we are all destined to return.

Born in a refugee camp at Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, Abu Ibrahim’s life-long struggle, was for the liberation of his homeland from the brutal Israeli military and settler occupation that continues to wage a genocidal war of annihilation of the Palestinian people.

In a demonstration of his commitment to the cause of liberation of Palestine and the Noble Sanctuary of Masjid Al Aqsa, and contrary to the narrative of “hiding in tunnels,” Abu Ibrahim fought against the apartheid forces to the very end, with a deep personal conviction that victory would be either achieving freedom or attaining martyrdom. He has attained martyrdom.

While the imperial forces celebrate the fall of Abu Ibrahim and the assassination of several other leaders of the resistance, the spirit of the struggle for freedom and dignity, which has endured for more than a century, shall however never be vanquished. Rather, the blood of the martyrs, shall continue to water the seed of liberation.

JUSA urges all who stand for justice and freedom to continue every effort in solidarity with the people of Palestine who at this moment are being subjected to mass starvation and high risk of disease, amidst extreme violence and massacres, at the hands of the Zionists, enjoying the backing of imperial superpower allies.

We call upon the succour of Allah, for the relief of the people of Palestine. May the fallen gain acceptance in the Courtyard of Allah, where deeds of their of ultimate sacrifice would not be in vain. Aameen.
