Following confirmed reports of moon-sighting, the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) has determined that Blessed Ramadan 1446 has ended with 29 days this evening of Sunday 30 March 2025. Consequently, in South Africa, the 1st day of Shawwal 1446 and Day of Eid-ul-Fitr, shall be on Monday 31st March 2025, in-sha-Allah.

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Dhu al Qa’da 1446 Hijrī, shall be on Monday 28 April 2025. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 20 Hours 08 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
