Following confirmed reports of the sighting of the #Hilaal, UUCSA determined that in South Africa, Shawwal 1445 has ended with 29 days. 1st Dhu al Qa’da 1445 therefore shall be on Friday 10 May 2024.

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Dhu al Hijjah 1445 Hijrī shall be on Friday 07 June 2024. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 26 Hours 45 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
