Following confirmed reports of moon-sighting, the United Ulama Council of South Africa has determined that Muharram 1446 has ended with 29 days.  Consequently, in South Africa, the 1st day of Safar 1446 is Tue 06 Aug 2024.

 

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Rabi al Awwal 1446 Hijrī, shall be on Tuesday 03 September 2024. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 14 Hours 00 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
