The sighting for the start of Muharram and 1446, the new Hjiri year,  shall be on Saturday 06 July 2024. If sighted, Dhu al Hijjah 1445 shall last 29 days, with 1st Muharram 1446 corresponding to Sun 07 July 2024.

Otherwise, Dhu al Hijjah will last 30 days, with 1st Muharram 1446, falling on Mon 08 July 2024, in-sha-Allah.

UUCSA will announce the official results of moon-sighting after confirmation procedures have been completed during Friday evening, in-sha-Allah.

We urge all Muslims and congregations to go out and seek the sighting of the moon, according to the Sunnah for the determination of the starting and ending of the Hijri months.
