AN URGENT APPEAL

 

The blessed precincts of Masjid Al-Aqsa, the first Qiblah of Islam and the third holiest sanctuary after Makkah and Madinah, are facing their gravest threat in modern history. Under the long shadow of occupation forces, extremist settlers storm the Noble Sanctuary, performing rituals, and openly declaring their intent to erase its Islamic identity and build a so-called “Third Temple.” These crimes are not isolated incidents; they are part of a systematic attempt to strip Al-Aqsa from the Ummah and rewrite the history of Jerusalem.

 

The historic status quo, upheld for centuries and guaranteed by international agreements, is being dismantled before our eyes. What happened to the Ibrahimī Mosque in Al Khalīl (Hebron)— divided, militarised, and desecrated— is now being prepared for Al-Aqsa. The cries of our brothers and sisters in Jerusalem grow louder, yet the world remains deaf to their pleas.

 

To remain silent is to share in this crime. The Ummah must rise to defend what Allah has entrusted to it. We therefore call upon the leaders, scholars, and nations of the Muslim world:

 

• Exert Powerful Economic and Political Leverage: Make it unmistakably clear that every diplomatic, trade, and security relationship with Israel will hinge on its full respect for the sanctity of Masjid Al-Aqsa and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. No agreement, no alliance, and no partnership should come at the expense of the Ummah’s sacred trust.

 

• Demand an International Peacekeeping Force: Insist, with one united voice, on the immediate deployment of a neutral, internationally mandated peacekeeping presence to shield Masjid Al-Aqsa from desecration, halt settler provocations, and safeguard the historic status quo. The Ummah cannot remain a silent spectator while our sanctities are violated— decisive action is not just a duty, it is an obligation before Allah and before history.

 

• Support Steadfastness in Jerusalem: Strengthen the resolve of Palestinians by providing financial, political, and logistical support to those guarding Al-Aqsa, day and night, ensuring that their sacrifices are not in vain.

 

• Amplify the Cause: Use every platform— from state media to the minbars of our masājid— reminding the world that Al-Aqsa is not a Palestinian issue alone; it is a trust upon the shoulders of every Muslim.

 

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam said: “The believers, in their mutual compassion, love, and empathy, are like a single body; when one limb suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever.” (Bukharī & Muslim)

 

Al-Aqsa is bleeding, and the Ummah is that body. If we fail to act today, history will record our silence as an unforgivable betrayal. Let us not be the generation that allowed the first Qiblah of Islam to be desecrated. Let us be the generation that rose to its defence, that turned words into action, and that fulfilled the trust placed upon us by Allah.

 

May Allah guide us, unite us, and grant victory to the oppressed.
