The week which has just ended has been one of the most challenging of the post-1994 period in South Africa. Widespread civil unrest turned violent with looting sprees and arson attacks, especially in the KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng regions.
The unrest has left in its wake devastation, anarchy, gutted infrastructure and mayhem.
The response from the Muslim community among others who are contributing towards emergency relief has been phenomenal. The generous contributions of donors following, our urgent appeal have enabled us to reach out to communities in KwaZulu Natal.
