There was no confirmed moon-sighting reports of the crescent in the evening of Sunday, 15 Nov 2020. As such, the month of Rabi al Awwal 1442, in South Africa, will end with 30 days, on Monday, 16 Nov 2020.

 

Consequently, the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) has determined that in South Africa, the 1st of Rabi al Thaani 1442, shall correspond to Tuesday 17 Nov 2020.

 

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon.

 

In the light and spirit of the Sunnah, we appeal to jamaats to go out and seek the sighting of the new moon every month. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Jumaadal Ula 1442 shall be after sunset on Tuesday, 15th December 2020, in-sha-Allah.
