Moonsighting: Start of Dhu al Qa’da 1441
Due to confirmed reports of sighting of the #Hilaal, the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) has determined that in South Africa, Shawwal ends with 29 days on Monday 22 June 2020. It follows then that 1st Dhu al Qa’da 1441 corresponds to Tuesday 23 June 2020.
The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon.
In the light and spirit of the Sunnah, we appeal to jamaats to go out and seek the sighting of the new moon every month. The next sighting of the moon for the determining the start of Dhu al Hijjah 1441 shall be after sunset on Tuesday 21 July 2020, in-sha-Allah.
