Following no confirmed reports of moon-sighting, the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) has determined that Rajab 1447 ends with 30 days on Tuesday 20th January 2026. Consequently, in South Africa, the 1st day of Shabaan 1447 corresponds to Wednesday 21st January 2026, in-sha-Allah.

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Blessed Ramadan 1447, shall be on Wednesday 18th February 2026. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 28 Hours 48 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
