Following confirmed reports of moon-sighting, @uucsa had determined that the month of Muharram 1445 has ended with 29 days in South Africa.

 

Consequently, the 1st Safar 1445 shall correspond to Friday 18 Aug 2023, in-sha-Allah.

 

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Rabi al Awwal 1445 shall be after sunset on Friday 15 Sep 2023. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 14 Hours 20 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
