Following no confirmed reports of moon-sighting, the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) has determined that Jumaadal Ukhraa 1447 ends with 30 days on Sunday 21st December 2025. Consequently, in South Africa, the 1st day of Rajab 1447 corresponds to Monday 22nd December 2025, in-sha-Allah.

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Shabaan 1447, shall be on Monday 19th January 2025. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 21 Hours 12 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
