Following confirmed reports of moon-sighting, the United Ulama Council of South Africa has determined that Jumaadal Aakhirah 1446 has ended with 29 days. Consequently, in South Africa, the 1st day of Rajab 1446 is Wednesday 01 January 2025, in-sha-Allah.

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Rajab 1446 Hijrī, shall be on Wednesday 29 January 2025. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 04 Hours 24 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
