Assalaamu ‘Alaikum

 

Due to no confirmed reports of sighting of the #Hilaal, the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA),  determined that in South Africa, Dhu al Hijjah 1443 ended with 30 days on Saturday evening, 30 July 2022. It follows then that 1st Muharram 1444 corresponds to Sunday, 31 July 2022. Yaum Aashura, the 10th Day of Muharram will therefore be on Sunday, 09th August 2022, in-sha-Allah.

 

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon.
