Moonsighting Results | Start of Dhu al Hijjah 1445

Following confirmed reports of moon-sighting, the United Ulama Council of South Africa has determined that Dhu al Qa’dah 1445 has ended with 29 days. Consequently, in South Africa, the 1st day of Dhu al Hijjah 1445 is Sat 08 Jun 2024. Eid-ul-Adha will therefore be on Mon 17th Jun 2024, in-sha-Allah. #hilaal #DhulHijjah
The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s Central Hilaal Committee acts on behalf of UUCSA in the coordination of the sighting of the moon. The next sighting of the moon for the determination of the start of Muharram 1446 Hijrī, the new year, shall be on Saturday 06 July 2024. At sunset in Johannesburg, the Hilâl will be 16 Hours 32 Minutes, in-sha-Allah.
