Hygiene Packs Distribution
During National Water Week this year, which takes place yearly between the 16 and 22 March, the Welfare Department of the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa visited the Jabavu East Primary School situated in Orlando East, Soweto. Learners were addressed regarding the significance of personal hygiene as well as the importance of water conservation.
In partnership with the Islamic Careline, 450 Hygiene Packs were distributed among the learners of the school. These packs consisted of various items including bottled water, soap, toothpaste, a tooth brush, a facecloth and a deodorant. The more elder girls were also provided with a pack of sanitary towels and sisters from the Islamic Careline addressed them regarding issues relating to girls health.
