A COMMUNITY STATEMENT

 

Assalāmu ‘Alaikum

 

Following social media posts that have gained currency over the past 24 hours, that there would be raids on masājid during Jumuah today, in the light of the question of irregular migration, the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa sought to engage relevant authorities.

 

According to the authorities, there has not be any such specific instruction given to law enforcement agencies, to single out places of worship in general, and masājid, in particular.
